ENEMY TRENCHES CAPTURED. PROGRESS AMONG THE MOUNTAINS.

An Italian communique states that between Vallarse and the -head of the Posina Valley we captured trenches still left in the enemy's possession after the fighting on the 7th.

We have progressed north of Mount Passable and on the northern slopes of Corno Del Ocston, in the Upper Posina.

PRINCESS IN THE FIGHTING LINE. _

Petrograd, Sept. 10. A romantic discovery has been made. A wounded soldier at a Kharboff. hospital was recognised to be the Princess Volonsky, aged 23. Her husband, father and brother were killed early in the war. The princess cut her tresses, enlisted and fought for months on the south-w.est front. She was then discovered and sent to Kieff, but she eluded her guards and returned (to the fighting line, where she was wounded,
