The Westimnster Gazette complains of tbe scantiness of British official reports from the West Front, contrasting them with French communiques, which are much ampler and also daily semi-official explanations. The newspaper says it is a ; very real grievance needing strong protest. AN ANZAC BOOK, BY GALLIPOLI ANZACS. London, May 23. Cassells are publishing a half dollar Anzac Book, written and illustrated at Gallipoli by Anzacs. It is to be sold for tbe benefit of Australasian Patriotic Funds. A large edition was sold out before publication. There are 170 pages. The cover design consists ot an Anzac, backed by the Union Jack holding a bayonet and defying the enemy. The introduction is bj r General Birdwood, who touchingly refers to the eight mouths spent on Gallipoli, where he made many fast friends of all ranxs. “I shall ever value the friendship.” says the writer. “My pen is incapable of describing to Australasians and their fellow countrymen the courage and determination of those who fought and gave up their lives for King and Country's sake.” The volume is interspersed with photographs and graphic pictures in colour and line by Ted Colles, Crozier, Wimbush, Leys, Hon. White, Caxitaiu Bean, Roach and others.
