WANGANUI SUPREME COURT.

Per Press Association. Wanganui, May 33. At the Supremo Court to-day Cornelius Trainer and William Murray were sentenced to eighteen mouths’ hard labour, to be followed by detention not exceeding two years for reformative treatment for robbery accompanied by violence from a man under the influence of drink. George Kelly, alias William Kelly, was charged with wilfully commitring an indecent act at Hunterviile and was sentenced to imprisonment with hard labour for twelve months. A young man named Edward John Cuthbert pleaded not guitly lo a charge of indecent assault at Kaitoke. Evidence for the 'prosecution'wa given by a little girl aged nine years, who said that the prisoner had interfered with her. After other evidence had been heard, the jury, after short retirement, returned a verdict of guilty. His Honour said the offence was one of a kind which must be stamped out, in the interests of the community. A sentence of three years’ imprisonment, with hard labour, was imposed.
