CINEMA. TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. On Tuesday and Wednesday next, at the Cinema, there will be screened one of the most remarkable dramas ever filmed. The production is by the famous Rex Film Co. and features Miss Pauline Bush and_Mr Ray Gallaher. Entitled “The Grind’’ the story is a true one of the life of the avex’age work girl of to-day'. It shows without over acting the temptations and trials to which girls are subjected on all sides. The actress, the shop girl, and the office girl, all live their dull wretched lives iu this picture and the story is one that will make a lasting impression on everyone who sees it. The acting is fine and the photography beautiful. Prices will be as usual. COMIC OPERA SEASON. “THE GIRL IN THE TAXI.’’ To be introduced to Marton at the Opera House on next Monday night, the 29th inst., for the first time, “The Girl in the Taxi,” the delightful French musical comedy which has been delighting crowded houses in Sydney and Melbourne for the last twelve months, has now found its way to the Dominion and proved an instantaneous success. In spite of the depx-essed times and the many calls upon the public purse, “The Girl in the Taxi” is repeating in the Dominion its remarkable success in the Commonwealth, and proving a great money maker for the management. A musical comedy that can do that must have much to recommend it. It is credited with being exceptionally bright and tuneful, witn abundance of fun tbat is fast and furious from the rise to_ the fall of the curtain. Miss Violet Collinson, who plays the part of Suzanne, has already established herself the great favourite in the Dominion she did in the Commonwealth ; while Mr D. B. O’Connor, as Hubert, has done nothing better, and tlxose who have Already seen him as Peter Doody in “The Arcadians” know what that means. Miss Ida Leggatt, as the baron’s daughter, is specially praised for her singing. In fact, the whole company is credited with taking a hand in the success achieved by “The Taxi.” The box plan is at Mogridge’s.
