RANGITIKEI v. WANGANUI REPS. The game was played in the Marton Park on Saturday in ideal weather and resulted in a win for Wanganui by 12 to 6. Play commenced sharp at 3 o’clock, Rangitikei kicking ott and had the Wanganui team defending for the first five minutes, when they were compelled to force. A few minutes after O’Brien marked in a good position and Les Green kicked a beautiful goal from nearly half way. Rangitikei 3, Wanganui 0. The lead seemed to liven the visit ing team up, and they made several hard efforts to score, but the Rangitikei defence was too good. Play was very even for a time and Rangitikei seemed to be holding their own, when Keeui marked just inside the 25, giving Les Green a chance to kick another goal, making the score: Rangitikei (i, Wanganui 0. From the kick off Wanganui made tilings lively, and the hacks having the ball returned to them, put in a tine piece of passing, resulting in Collier scoring their first try. The kick at goal failed. Shortly after this time was called, the scores being, Rangitikei (5, Waganui <5. In the second spell Rangitikei seemed to go to pieces and were on the defensive most of the second spell. The Wanganui backs began to show their superiority and after a good piece of passing Clarke registered the second score for Wanganui, the kick being a failure, After this play seemed to be at a standstill and neither team seemed to put forth their best efforts. From a scrum the Wanganui backs got possession of the hall and went from the half to Clark on the wing, who scored again. Wanganui 9, Rangitikei 6. A tew minutes before time Wanganui registered their fourth try and the game ended Wanganui 12, Rangitikei 6. Mr S. Hunt had control of the game and made a very efficient referee.
