HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. ' Per Press Association. Wellington, Dec. 1. The following is the High Commissioner’s cable, dated Loudon, Nov. 28th. Note: Quotations unless otherwise specified are average market prices ou spot: — Mutton.—At about the beginning of this week was in lair demand. The trade has fallen off very much and prices declined as the result of heavy arrivals of Dutch. Canterbury 5%; North Island 5%d; best quality ewes, good demand lamb there has been no alteration in market since last week. The market has been dull on account of the heavy arrival of Dutch and Scotch, which are selling at a low price. Canterbury twos (5%d, other than Canterbury 6>£d. Beef.—Little demand at market rates and prices based upon Government contracts. New Zealand hinds fores 5%d. Chilled, hinds 6%d ; fores 5%d. - Rutter. Market is very firm. Danish quiet 143 s to 146 s per cwt. ; New Zealand prices firm with good demand 130 s to 133 s ; unslated 130 s to 1345; Australian in small supply. There is a good demand at 126 sto 1.385; Irish creamery supplies are decreasing at 133 s to 130 s; Argentine firm at 133 sto 1365; Siberian firm, good demand at 130 s to 1325. Cheese. —Market lirm Canadian white and colored 77s to 78s per cwt.; New Zealand white and colored 75s to 7fis. The shipment of cheese ex Corinthic arrived in good condition.

Hemp.—Market is speculative. There is better demand. Spot New Zealand, good fair grade £B3 10s per ton ; fair grade £3l 10s; fair current Manila £24; January-Maroh current shipment good fair grade £24; fair grade £32; fair current Manila £24. The output, from Manila for the week is 13,000 bales. Cocksfoot.—Seed market film; there is a general and active demand for Danish at 60s per cwt.

The wool market for Merinos is easier, out very active tor crossbreds.
