NOMINATIONS

Per Press Association. New Plymouth, Nov.- 30. Henry Okey (Government), and Daniel Hughes (Opposition) have been nominated for Taranaki. Stratford, Nov. 30. J. B. Hine (Government) and W. H. Hawkins (Opposition) have been nominated for Stratford. Bltham, Nov. 30. Egmont nominations are Charles. A. Wilkinson (Government) and David L. A. Astbury (Opposition) Hawera, Nov, 30. G. V. Pearce (Reform and W. Morrison (Liberal) have been nominated for the Patea seat. 2 Palmerston. —D. Buick and J. A. Nash (Government), E. H. Orabb (Liberal) and J. Thorn (Social Democrat). KANGITIKBI. The following nominations have been received: — NEWMAN, EDWARD, nominated by Messrs E, Jenkins, A. B. Innes, Francis G. Hilton, Robert Glasgow, David Ingle, George T. Avery, and Frank F. Poppe. HORNBLOW, ROBERT 8., nominated by Messrs A. H. Griffin, B. Read and W. H. Gomez. MR HORNBLOW AT CLYDESDALE. From a Correspondent. There was a very representative gathering of electors, including ladies, at Mr Hornblow’s meeting at Clydesdale on Saturday evening, many of them coming a long distance. Mr Reeve occupied 9 the chair. In introducing the candidate he referred to tne fact that he had known Mr Hornblow about 20 years and the electors would find him a straightgoing man and one well fitted for the position. Mr Hornblow was well received on rising to speak, and throughout his address was attentively listened to. On the motion of Mr MoOutchen, seconded by Mr Giles, the candidate was accorded a hearty vote of thanks and confidence; also one to Sir Joseph Ward as Leader of the Liberal Party. There being ro amendment, the motion was carried with applause. A similar compliment was accorded the chairman. MEETINGS TO-NIGHT. Mr Speed at Ohaknne. Mr Newman at Newbury. Mr Guthrie at Sfeanway at 7 and Makiuo at 8.30. Mr Morrison at Ohutu. Mr Hornblow will address the electors of Turakina on Wednesday next at 8 o’clock. Mr E. Newman will address the electors of Cameron’s Line at Te Arakura schoolhouse on Wednesday, December 2nd, at S o’clock.
