An examination of Vergara’s body shows that a blow with a rifle butt had crushed his skull and .there are also gunshot wounds in the head and neck. The body had been mutilated and a burned hand indicated that he had bean tortured before death. Men, believed to he t,he Texas Rangers, restored the body to the grave again. The Commandant of the Rangers denies that his men participated in the burial.
