At last Saturday’s meeting of the Rangitikei County Council, when discussing the letter from Mannwatu County Council, Or. Dairymple moved that until some scheme is in operation whereby owners of motor vehicles will contribute towards t he maintenance of roads this Council is of opinion that it tauuot consider a proposal to borrow money for the construction of motor roads. The motion was, however, lost, the majority of the Councillors considering that in view of the proposed conference it would be Inopportune to pass the motion.
