The Department of Agriculture has received the following cable fromt he High Commissioner, dated London, March 3rd, regarding the opening of the second series of Colonial wool sales: —- The wool sales have commenced with a large attendance of buyers and competition is keen. Americans are buying freely and the market is very strong. Merinos average and crossbreds Id above closing rates of last sales. 60,200 bales of New Zealand wool are catalogued.
