A DENIAL.. Per Press Association." Wellington, August 29. With respeotf to the telegram from New Plymouth published on Tuesday, stating that two congregations hadjprotested against the reported statement of Mr A. R. Atkinson that it is singular that the forces working for the Bible-in-Sofaools movement are a mixture of religions bigotry and political, cant,- Mr Atkinson assures the Prags Association that he never made-any such statement and never attacked the character or motives of those engaged in the movement, but on the oontrary holds them in the highest respect He points out that the imputation to him of this offensive statement is highly injurious to his reputation as a private citizen, and a public man. The Press Association accepts his denial without hesitation and desires to give the fullest publicityto Mr Atkinson's denial and to express its regret that the words complained of should have found their way into an Association message.
