A meeting of the Land -Board was lieldjj on Thursday.' There were present :—MrJT. N. Erodrick (Commissioner), Messrs. Jos. Dawson, H. T. Ellirigbain, and Jas, Georgetti. TRANSFERS The following applications to s transfer leases and licenses were approved on usuarconditions:—J Webb to Geo. Parker, part section 62, block XIV., Ohinewairua; Wm. H, Haynes to J. Other applications to transfer were reoeived and dealt with as follows: —T Fnnston, as mortgagee of Mrs F E Wilkins, to S Hewitt, section 9, block XI., Rangataji V. Mrs I J Raynel, sections 1 and 2, block XVI, Manganni, Horopito West V.S., applied to "be allowed to forfeit her interest in the owing to failing health—Approved. It was decided to approve of section 15, blook 10, Horopito West V. S , being Te-offered on renewable lease at a rent of £4 per annum, The Board resolved to re-offer section 10, block 16, Horopito West .V.S., on renewable lease, at an an nual rent of £2 12s. It was determined to approve of section 11, blocks, Horopito West Township, being reoffered on renewable lease at a rent of £2 5a per annnm, weighted with £lO 10s for improvements. With reference to temporary grazing permits to small grazing run occupiers which expire on September Ist,. 1913, it was resolved to renew the permits for a period of six months from September Ist, 1913, at same rentals as are paid at present. An application from Mrs E E Rees for about %-acre near Raurimu township was considered—lt was resolved to grant her a permit to oocupv this area from year to year at a rent of £1 per annum, subjaot to usual conditions. It was decided to grant /Mr. O. Buttimore splitting rights ever parts seotions 7 and 8, block 5, Earioi, for a period of one year at the royalties recommended by the ranger. With.reference to, Mr Jaoob Gif-. ford's tfemporary occupation of . section 677, blook 7, Rewa, the question of allowing him to select this section under Section 14 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, " r 1912, was considered—Approved. The Board decided to approve of .- Mr John Or on in fencing the boundary between his seotion 31, block 13, Ohinewairua, and eduoaion reserve section 15, block 1, Hautapu, the work to be done under the super- .. vision and to the satisfaction of the Crown Lands Ranger, and on its completion a voucher, for half its cost, as assessed by the ranger, to be passed in favour of air Uronin, the reserve to be weighted when offered . for lease, with the amount so paid. block 15, Kaitieke (964 a 2r) to W T Stewart (approved by the Board on the 81st ultimo provided the transferred effects required improvements iWithin twelve months) a letter was 'received from Messrs Arrowsmlth and Lough nan,-.solicitors, stating that the transferee proposed to put the balance of the improvements on the land: within the. next twelve months, and it was resolved to inform the parties that the improvements must be effected before the transfer could be granted. . The following local bodies forwarded proposals for the expenditure of accrued thirds, which wore -approved subject to investigation by the ranger, and so far as the amounts are still available:—Kiwitea County £l2l 16s 7d, Mangawhero Road Board £63 9s 6d, tipper Wangaehu Road Board £1143 8s 7d, Akitio County £240 12s 10d. Mrs Jessie Strang, the owner of the Eangataua block, applied to ex. change about acres of her land for an equal area Of section 1, blocb 8, Huangarua, Longbush Settlement, held under lease-in-perpetuity by Mr A. McKenzie, for the purposes of access and a better fencing line.— This was approved subject to ranger’s report being sat sfaotory. It was resolved to decline Mr Bush’s application for section 30, block 3, Makbtuku, as the land is still required for milling puposes. With reference to W. H. Gomez’s application for a license to mill a strip along the Eherua road, it was decided to decline same and to obtain an appraisement from the expert of the. timber on block 7, Manganui S.D. An application from Messrs Adsett and Manning for a license to mill timber on resarve to the north-west and south of Owhango township was received.—lt was decided to empower the Commissioner to issue a milling license over this timber to Messrs Adsett and Manning on usual conditions, on his being satisfied that all i coessible milling timber included in their oresent license has been out out. The new license tobe for a term of two years, and royalties to be at following rates':—Totara 3s, matai. 3s, rimu and miro Is, and kahikata 6d per 100 superficial feet. - Dr W. J. Feltham applied for sections 1 and 10, block 11, Ohakune township, and it was decided to obtain a report from the ranger. The Board determined to approve of the temporary letting of part section 13, block 13, Kairanga, to Messrs Abraham and Williams at £l2 14s 2d par month; also to recommend payment of the cost of removing the fence at present standing, on the centre of the new road, to the new western boundary of the reserve and payment to Mr V. Riddiford of half the value of the fence, both amounts to be assessed to the satisfaction of the commissioner. EDUCATION RESERVES. Reports and valuations were received from the rangers as to the leases of .education, reserves which expire on December 31ts, 1913, It was resolved to offer the lessees renewals in terms of Section 2 (5) of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, at the following annual rentals: — James Francis Heckler, section 112, block 14, Mangaone, £l3B 5s 3d. Neil Small, jnn., section 78, block 13, Mangahao, £3l 12s. John Major, section 1288. Bnnuytherpe town, £l. John Joseph Bryce, section 47, Marshall village, £l. William Drummond Fernie, section 56, block 1, Tirirankawa, £212 18s 3d.
