THE OVERSEAS CLUB.
Per Press Association. Wellington August 29. A conference of Overseas Club delegates was held to-day. It was decided to instruct the branches to celebrate Empire Day by holding patriotic concerts in conjunction with kindred societies making speeches to school children, and lighting bonfires on prominent hills. A proposal to have a welcome hall at Auckland Exhibition was remitted to Auckland branch to report on. The question of having a daily ceremony at the schools to instil Imperial ideas into children was left to Auckland to arrange and report to the Council.
