POHONUI NOTES.

Prom Our Own Correspondent. A dance in aid of Pukeroa piano fund was held in Mr Lllburn’e woolshed last Friday evening, and proved a huge success. The building was decorated very artistically with wattle bloom and other foliage, while the lamps were ornamented with long streamers, reflecting great credit upon the fair labourers who, with a few members of the sterner sex, spent much time and energy ia arranging the decorations The floor was in’splendid order and the music 1 provided by Messrs Wapp and Newland, two of our best accordeon players, was exceptionally good. Mr Harre also assisted with his violin, while extras were played by Mrs Lilburn and Mr D. Ott. A delicious supper with cafe-au-lait was muck appreciated. Mr Suckling was an indefatigable M, O. Several children 1 danced the Highland Fling during the evening, making avery pretty innovation. Altogether 4 the gather-: ing was a very pleasurable one, andj the many guests departed for their homes much impressed by the kindness and hospitality extended towards them.
