The monthly meeting was held yesterday. Present: Cr H. H. Knot (in the chair in the bsenoe of Or. J. G. Wilson, indisposed), J. Henson. W. J. Phillips, B. Gyay and W. B. Barber. Leave of absence was granted Or. R. B, McKenzie, g Correspondence was read — From Treasury, forwarding £sl 14s 5d payments on tram. From General Manager of Railways, offering a “D” oar for £9O, f.o.b. Picton. —Held over. From Department of Internal Affairs, asking Council to select numerals and letters for registration of motors.—MG and numbers from 1 upwards adopted. From Mr E, Newman, M.P., notifying that Postmaster-General would consider extension of telephone hours at Sanson bureau. From Abitio County Council, asking Council’s support in getting an amendment in the Act in direction of giving power to create a special accident insurance fund. —To be supported. From Moutoa Drainage Board, asking Council to *ake over bridge erected by Board over Main Drain in 1910. —Agreed to. Prom Rangitikei County Ooncnil, asking for payment of £lB 13s Bd, Council’s share of expenditure on Bulls bridge. Prom E, Tamplin, Sanson’s Line, Glen Oroua, requesting that drain near his property be attended to, — Engineer to inspect From M. O. Tremaia, asking that roads in Sandon Riding (butn ot township) bo closed to stockgrazing From J. W. Watts, asking for finger post at corner of Lee's Line and Feilding-Awahuri road. From Secretary Glen Orona Dairy Company, requesting that drain on Main Drain Road be attended to,— Left to Euigneer From George H. Lucas, stating that gorse and the bad state of Taikorea road wore responsible tor an accident which he met. He considered Council should offer him some compenastion.—Council not liable, as road is in good order. From L, Sutton, claiming compensation for goods damaged by wet while in a truck at Rongotea Siding. —Left to Or. Hunt. From A, G. Mr H. Soally has completed his contract for supplying and delivering metal on the various roads in this Riding, and is now making good progress with his contract on Mfc. Beggs Road. I have had Ohakea Terrace Road diversion surveyed, but the plans have not yet oome to hand. The largo concrete pipes required to replace the two bridges on the Ohakea Road have come to iiand and could be placed in position any time when convenient. A five foot wooden culvert on Bulls Road is completely rotten and should be replaced * with a concrete culvert without delay. Cost of new culvert £SO. An old wooden culvert is falling in on Kakariki Road and it will be necessary to replace it in cohcrete, cost of culvert £4®. Mt. Stawart Riding.—A large concrete pipe culvert has been put across B’eildmg-Awahuri road. Mr F. Price will complete his contract for supplying and delivering metal on Mangaone road in a few days. The contractor for supplying and delivering metal in this Riding hopes to commence putting out pietal on|Lee’s Line this week. Waitohi Riding.—T. Stuart and Sons are making good progress with their contract for supplying and delivering screened metal on TaipoAwahuri road and will have tins work completed in a few days. Mr J. Bishop is making good headway with his metalling contract on Saudou-Awahuri road, and expects to have this contract completed in 1 about a week. Rongotea Riding.—We have takes away the casing and tilled in the approaches to the concrete bridge over Sluggish Creek on Jones’ Road, and the bridge is now open for traffic.
