PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Rangitikei County Council held on the Ist day of March, 1913, it was resolved (by way of special order) as follows:*— That in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon it by ‘‘The Counties Act, 1908,” “ The Public Works Act, 1908,” “ The Public Health Act, 1908,” “ The Motor Regulation Act, 1908,” and by every amendment of the said Acts, and of every other power it in this behalf abling the Council of the County of Rangitikei doth hereby make and ordain the following by-laws; the object and purport of the said By-laws are as follows: Part I. Introductory and penalties Part 11. Relating to offences on roads and public places Part 111. Regulating traffic generally Part IY. Regulating width of tyres Part Y. Providing for regulation and licensing of vehicles plying for hire Part YL Regulating heavy traffic Part VII. Regulating the use of traction engines on roads Part VIII. Regulating the use of motors on roads Part IX. Regulating the use of bicycles on roads

Part X. Relating to pedlars and hawkers and providing for the licensing of same Part XI. Providing for the Regulation and licensing of public billiard-rooms Part XII. Regulating traffic over the Bulls bridge Part XIII. Regulating traffic over the Onepuhi bridge Part XIV. Relating to sanitation and public health and prevention of nuisances in certain specified parts of the county Part XV. Miscellaneous provisions All now existing By-laws of the County Council are to be’repealed by the By-laws hereby advertised. The said resolution and By-laws will be submitted for confirmation to a special meeting of the Council to be held at the County Council Chambers, situate in High Street, Marion, on Saturday, the sth day of April, 1913, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, at which meet ing the day of the coming into operation of the By-laws will be fixed. A full copy of the said proposed Special Order and By-laws is deposited at the office of the said Council, situate in High Street, Marton, and such copy will remain open to the inspection of the public during offios hours and without fee from the present date until the said confirming meeting is held. Manawatu county COUNCIL. BY-LAWS. NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Manawatu County Council held at the County Offices, Sanson, on Tuesday, 4th day of February, 1913, the following Special Order was adopted. In pursuance and exercise of ‘’The Counties Act, 1908 ” and “ The Public Works Act, 1908,” the Council of the County of Manawatu hereby makes the following By-law “ Every person, whether residing in the County or not, who shall conduct heavy traffic on any road in the County, on being requested so to do, shall: give such security as shall be required, that no special damage will accrue to any road or bridge by reason of such heavy traffic.” This By-law is to come into force on the 18th day of April, 1913. | A copy in full of the foregoing Special Order is deposited at tlm County Offices, Sanson, for public inspection during office hours. A meeting of the Manawatu ! County Council will be held at the County Offices, Sanson, on Tuesday, Ist day of April to confirm the foregoing Special Order. A. K. DREW.
