AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY AND IMPLEMENTS.

.E. CHASE, MARTON. An establishment of wide repute is that conducted by Mr E, Chase at Orofton, who for 38 years has attended to the wants of the farming and carrying community. That he has given great satisfaction is evidenced by the manner in which the business has grown, necessitating the opening of a branch in Marton where he has a showroom and coachbuilder’s plant, opposite McKenzie’s Garage. In coach building Mr Chase has always occupied a premier position in the Rangitikei district, and the vehicles manufactured testify to lis ability in this line. An express just completed for Mr E. Dommett, Marton, bears a neat and strong appearance with a green background and yellow and brown linings, 'whilst a spring dray booked to a Rangiwahia resident should stand many a long journey as it is a staunch and wellbuilt vehicle. In renovating motor cars Mr Chase’s painters have shown a touch of the artistic, and one recently painted for Mr Prebble is worthy of inspection. As agent for Messrs Booth, MacDonald and Co. and Massey-Harris farming implements, a stock of all duplicate parts for their well-known machinery is stocked at .Orofton. A new combination of side-rake and tedder by the last , named firm is destined to prove a’great boon to farmers, as it does perfect work as a tedder and equally as successful work as a side rake. Nothing like it has ever been offered before, and when placed on the market in Canada they proved so popular that it was almost impossible to meet the demands. A trial of the machine at Christchurch proved most satisfactory. One of these combined machines is now on view at Mr Chase’s showroom in Marton.

The material used in making and repairing vehicles is imported from Australia, and chiefly comprises iron bark, red gum and spotted gum, being seasoned for 18 months before being used. A number of second-hand farming implements and vehicles are also on hand for sale, and those in need of any article required for the farm or road could not do better than give this old established firm a visit.
