Mr Harold Beauchamp has been appointed director of the Bank of New Zealand in place of Mr [J, B. Reid, resigned. Mr F. S. B. Last Saturday Mr G. Hastings employed by Mr J. W. Warwick, Marton, was skinning a lamb when the knife slipped and out into the inner side of his wrist severing a tendon and an artery. Dr. Warren attended the sufferer, who is progressing favourably. Eliza Niccolls, married, aged' 38, died suddenly in the anteroom of Christchurch Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning. She was waiting to appear oh a charge of false pretences and collapsed in her husband’s arms. She had been under medical treatment for heart trouble.
