The International Organisation of Socialists held demonstrations in London, Paris and Berlin against war. The London meeting shouted down Mr G. N. Barnes, Labour member for Blaokfriars, characterised him as the “Labour Joker ’’ and jeeringly asked him “Who said workers?” Mr Ramsay MacDonald, leader of the Labour Party in the House of Commons, addressed the gathering. Europe, Jho said, had failed to improve its opportunity to promote peace in the Balkans, as it might have done,' Therefore the workers must see that it does not now prevent the Allies from turning to advantage the liberty they bad won.
