The police at Czestochowa attempted* to arrest Kloslowski, a notorious bandit, at the famous Paulist Monastery of Jasnagor, where he was attempting to seize treasure. Koslowski took refuge in 1 a bastion with a comrade and threw bombs at a regiment of infantry and two squadrons of cavalry which surrounded the Monastery. During a four hours’ fight four were wounded. Finally the troops blew np the bastion, killing Koslowski. During the siege the monks and a thousand pilgrims were confined panic-stricken in the church.
