At the Premier’s instance the rescinding- resolution was dis- • charged and Monday’s as amended was quietly negatived. The House takes tho committee stage of the fresh financial resolution to-morrow and the report stage on "Wednesday and goes on Thursday into committee on the Bill. Tho Premier said Government had immediately responded to the Speaker’s appeal, though it considered the original proposal if not within the letter was within the spirit of Parliamentary procedure. If it now suggested another course it was owing to its repugnance to a possible recurrence of disorder and bceause it was impossible to ignore I the appeal of the Chair. | Mr Samuel gave notice of fresh | financial resolutions, more explicitly j worded, in regard to the services I for which money is required than j the previous resolutions.
