INLAND ROUTE RECOMMENDED. Per Press Association. Hastings, October 15. A public meeting last night discussed the Stoppage of work on the East Coast railway, and passed a resolution meeting while approving of the action of Government in wasteful expenditure, strongly urges speedy completion of the East Coast railway, provided it is completed &by up-to-date-economical methods and take alongthe route most advantageous to the people of New Zealand. Another resolution to the effect that the Intel ests of the Dominion would be better served by adopting the inland route opening up of Government lands was also carried. '
