At the wool sales the quantities sold were for- Home consumption 820,00 bales, Continent 38,000 bales, and the United States 6000, and 7000 bales were held over. There was the keenest competition throughout. Merinos closed 7% per cent, above July closing rates, shafty combing of ten realised fancy prices; fine crossbreds fully miantained July, rates; medium coarse crossbreds advanced 10 per cent. ; medium slipes a half penny to one nenny; and coarse Id to merino lambs were 5 per cent., and per cent, higher. The following are the prices realised for the fleece portions of the clips named: “Redcliffe,” top price average price lOjkfd; “Durih Kuriheka, ’ top 13>od, average 13d.
