BULLS BRASS BAND.

The artnnal meeting of tbe above Band was held in tbe Tawn Hal!, Bulls, last evening, when there was a very large attendance of members. The President, Mr F. J. Mansell, occupied the chair. In moving the adoption of the repost, the Chairman congratulated, members on the very satisfactory position tiie Band was in, and he hoped that they would stick together and do even better the next 12 months.

The election "of officers resulted:— President, Mr F. J. Mansell; conductor, Mr O. H. HinkJey; bandmaster, Mr O. Thorby; custodian, Mr A. Truman; treasurer, Mr F. J. Mansell; secretary, Mr A. Brown, ail re-elected, Committee: Messrs J. B. Walker, L. Anderson. J. Ransom, J J. Mansell, and officers ex officio.

The Band will .play a programme of music outside the Town Hal! this evening, oommeaoistg afe 9 o’clock. In presenting their annual ‘report and balance-sheet for the year,. 1 sl3, your Committee have pleasure in congratulating Bulls Brass Band oa its financial ucsition. The Band started about 13 months ago with a balance of osly £4 11s Id taken over from fehe old Clifton Band, and after spending £l4B on new instruments and music it new has a dr. balance of £37 Is 43. During the year 38 active members have joined. Some of these have left the district end eight have left, leaving a membership g£ plaj’ers of 20. During the year the Band had bean engaged to play at four dances, two sports meetings, and three funerals, They have played out. in Bulis severs times, and once each afe Sanson and Ohakea The attendance afe practices have been very good, several members having attended all practices and engagements. In August of last year the Band held its first social and dance and mast be congratolafeedi oa its success. Six "assemblies'have also been held during the last few months. These have boon’fairly well attended and resulted in a gala of £4 16a 9t! to the funds. Much of the success has been due to she zeal and energy of the conductor,' who has taken great interest in fehe work of tbe members, especially fehe younger players, and hsa been present sit. all practices and engagements.

The Committee offer the baslf thanks of the Band to the Town Board for the use of the Town Ha IS room for ifc< practices and for their assistance in guaranteeing the Band’s account at the bank. They also'wish to give their thanks to those ladies who have helped bo materially to make the socials and assemblies so They wish also to give thanks to all officials who have worked for the Baud, to these who have kindly given donations, and to the public generally for support accorded to it in the past, aad hope that the same support will .be extended in the future.
