ADDINGTON STOCK REPORT. Christchurch, July 17. At Addington there were very much reduced entries in the yards in almost all departments in oonseqnence of the wot weather. Cattle sold irregularly, but without quotable change. The few fat lambs ofiered sold well, as did fat sheep. Store sheep were in been demand and prices were firmer, especially for store lambs. There was also a good sale for fab pigs.

Tho yarding of store sheep showed a further reduction, as might reasonably be expected at this late period of the season, and the tempestuous climatic conditions experienced recently. On the whole the sheep penned did not appear to advantage, most of them showing clearly that they had come through a trying time. Ail clasps of eweg, wethers and lambs were represented. Despite the unfavourable weather there was a representative attendance, and there was very been competition for all fat classes of sheep. Lambs made a farther advance of 6d to 9d per Jihsrd. Ewes more than maintained the prices ruling at recent sales, while the demand for wethers was equally animated as that far ewes, the prices paid for this description of .sheep being as high, condition considered, *s any during the current season. Ewe lambs, of which about half a dozen lots were offered, sold at 13s for small halforeds to 16a 6d for the best sorts of ewes of mixed sexes. Two hundred and fat cattle were penned, against 300 at the previous sals and 310 on July 3rd. The yarding consisted largely of steers, of. which some very nice animals were offered The demand was irregular, some Hubs, notably those from Laghmor selling remarkable well. The average price was on the same IrveS as the prevloos week, Steers realised £8 17a 6d to £ll, extra to £l4, heifers £6 to £6 10s, extra to £ll 10s, and cows £5 Ss to fill.

Only a few store cattle were offered, yearlings making 355, 15 to 18<montbs £3, two-year heifers £4 Bs, and dry cows £2 14s to £4. Dairy cows were is. fair demand, and sold at £5 'los'to £9 for ordinary sorts, and np to £l3 for extra good. Airolasses of pigs were represented by small entries. The demand for choppers and bacoGora 1 showed no change, bnt porkers were slightly better. Oboppers made 70s So 77a 6d, baooners 65s to *733. 'and lighter sorts 50s to 57s 6d, equivalent to 5 % P or lb. The best porkers realised 42s 6d to 46a, and lighter sorts 35s to 40s, equal to 53 per lb. Only a few stores were offered, the demand being good, The beat ones made 22s 6d to S2s, and smaller 14s to 20a. Weaners realised Ss 6d to 13s 6d.
