THE RACING CONFERENCE. Per Press Association. Wellington, July 18. ' It was decided that the interpretation “Metropolitan Committee” be altered to “District Committee.” and that five delegates, instead of two, be elected by totalisator clubs In a Metropolitan district. S Role 3of Part YI (providing that no club shall give less in stakes than the uel amount derived by it from the use of the totaiisator during tbe previous year) was amended by adding the provision that the rale shall not apply in the case of a diminution of the number of days on which She totaiisator is used by any club. Rule 7 of the same part was. amended to nrovide that dabs shsll undertake “not to permit any person to carry on the business of a bookmaker.” Previously prohibition had applied to “any unlicensed person,” Role 8, Part XXIV , was struck out and was substituted by : “The Clerk of the Scales before passing a jockey’s weight is correct shall satisfy himself that It does not exceed his correoi weight by more than two pounds in a fist race or four pounds 2n a hurdle race or steeplechase. ” Rule 2, Part XXVI, was altered to provide that a horse may be disqualified and the jockey punished if the horse crosses another, nnloss two clear lengths ahead, or jostles another .horse or jockey of another horse unless it be proved thst the jostle was wholly caused by the fault of same other jockev, or that she jostled horse or his jaokey was partly in fault. Rule 7, Part XXXI.. was amended to provide that there shall be no appeal from the finding of stewards on tbe following matters: (a) Short weight,f(b) a cross or jostle on the post or|on the wrong course or before the appointed time, (d) an obvious pull , . Rule 1. Part XXXV., was amended to give power to tinstess to invest monies at Interest on such terms and for snob periods as they may think fit.
