Wharf labourers refused to work the North Coast Company’s Burringbar because of the employment of seamen In the steamers’ holds. After a meeting of the Coastal Steamship 1 Association, the North Coast Company conceded the wharf labourers’ demands. It is expected work will be resumed to-morrow. The General Labourers’ Union tonight decided to vote £lO to the Waihi and Reefton strike funds. Oorrimal Miners’ Lodge have contributed sixpence fortnightly to Waihi and Reefton. A combined meeting of Oorrimal and Mount Pleasant miners passed a resolution that they are prepared to endorse the best possible means of assisting the New Zealand strikers in their fight for justice.
