Work has commenced on the erection of estensiye up-to-date meat freezing and canning works on Brisbane river near the city. which are estimated to cost £350,000. A representative of the undertaking stated that the Company is partly British and partly Amcr'can. He denied fehe rtimonr that it is a branch of the American Meat Trust, and says its object is to assist the pastoral industry and the development of the State.
