NEW ZEALAND CONFERENCE. Per Press Association. Wellington, July 16. The New Zealand Conference opened to day. A proposal to establish a North Island and South Island championship was vetoed. Mi Isaacs, Dunedin, moved that entries for the championship ho limited to one entry fronf each class from each affiliated body. An amendment was moved by Mr Cooper, Timaru, that the entry in each class be limited to six. The motion was carried. It was moved by Mr Cooper, Wauganni, that the rules be so altered as to provide for appointment of an official announcer for the championship meetings. Mr Goodwin, Timarn, proposed as an amend cane t that there should be an official announcer for all meetings. The motion was carried on the voices. It was decided that the duties - of the announcer should be to introduce the contestants and announce their class and weight! He is to obtain from the judges 'their decisions, and if they are in agreement he Is to immediately announce the decision. If they disagree ho is to refer the matter to a referee whose decision he is to announce. On the motion of Me BeauoharapPlatts, Wellington, it was resolved that In the opinion of this Association it should be understood thet in the case of any Association importing a professional from Australia, and whilst in the Dominion such professional Is engaged by Associations other than the one which Imported him, his travelling expanses to and from Australia should be shared pro tern by the Associations under whose auspices he appears.
