The weather continues exceptionally wet, and rivets are running high. Slips on roads are also, reported from many parts of the district. Per Press Association, Wellington', Jnly 16. Rain fell heavily all day in Wellington and continues to-night. Hntfi river is in high flood. The train which left for the Wairarapa this afternoon 3s returning to Wellington in consequence of a landslip on the Rimutska incline. The train which left Woodvilla at 2,15 was stuck up by a landslip'and a washout, and had to return. Masterton, July 16. Heavy northerly rains have fallen in this district during the last twenty-four hours, over three inches being registered. The rivets have overflowed and submerged the lowlying country, and many slips are reported. The train service sooth of Masterton is suspended tonight, owing to a slip having come down on the Rimutaka incline, and a washout having occurred between Peatherston and Woodville.
