Canterbury 3%d to 4%d ; North Island '6% d to 4>£d according, weight ewes S&d. Lamb.—Good demand. All lamb deliveries are light on market on account of the'strike, bnt the discharge is improving. Quotations show a weaker tendency Canterbury heavy weights 5%d, light weights 6££d. Other than Canterbury %d and less than these. Beet—The market la quiet, hut firm. New Zealand hinds fores S^d. Butter.—The market is qniet, hat rather steadier. Stocks of New Zealand are pretty well cleared. Obolcest New Zealand better 118 s, Anstralian 106 s, Siberian 103 s, Danish 122 s Cheese.—The market is declining on account of heavy Home supplies. Business is dull. New Zealand white 665, coloured 675. Hemp —The market is firm with improved demand. .New Zealand good fair on spot £22 10s, fair £2l ss. Forward shipment of New Zealand good fair £22 10s, fair grade £2l 10s. The stock on band is 268 tons. The market for Manila isgaotive at an advance. Fair current Manila on spot £23, forward shipment £23 10s Tbe output from Manila for week was 24,000 bales. cocksfoot. —The market is very qniet. New Zealand per owt. 64s to 70s. Buyers will not bay until results of Continental and American crops are known. Wool. —Thu market remains firm. NORTH OTAGO MARKETS. Oamarn- Jnlv 14. Exceeding slowness characterised the grain market dnriug tbe week, and there is no -speculation. Merchants are unwilling to buy, and growers are unwilling to sell at present prices. Two fasly substantial lines of velvet were bought at 3s 7d and 3s 6Jj£d net at country stations, but these prices were slightly above present qaotations. Oats are similarly lifeless, and A Grade Gartens have been sold at Is 11 >4d and 2s, both net, at country stations. The loading of a steamer for Sydney, and demand there, has infused new life into tbe potato market, and, starting at £4 10s at tbe beginning of the week, prices went up to £65 at tbe end net to growers. Another steamer is expected abont a fortnight hence, but cable advices report a slackening of the Sydney market and the demand has"eased a little. Potatoes are still offering from tbe country, and these will probably find a market in Australia. FEILDINQ MARKET REPORT. Messrs A. H. Atkinson & 00., Ltd., report high values ruling for pigs and poultry selling at top prices. There Is better enquiry for potatoes. Quotations Porkers 33s 6d to 38a, stores 21s to 255, slips 13s. Poultry, per pair, bens 3s 3d to 4s Bd, cockerels 4a, pullets 4s 3d to 4s 9d, half grown 2s 6d. Produce, pumpkins 5a to 6s sack, cabbages 2s 6d, swedes 2s, onions prize Stunner apples 4s half case, others 3s to 3s 6d.
