CONFESSION OF MURDER.
United Press Asaooiation—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright Received July 16, 1 p.m. Sydney, July iff. A deserter from the warship Drake has been recaptured and sentenced to a term of detention. He handed the naval authorities a statement that he and another man were concerned in the murder of Leon Beiron on Olaphara Common on Ist January, 1911, and that Morrison, who is undergoing sentence for the crime ■is not guilty. The authorities attach little importance to the confession, and consider be is seeking cheap notoriety. The man was serving In the Home fleet at the time of the tragedy.
