MeKeuzlo, in moving the adoption ot report and balaaoesheet, eulogised the conduct of school business, by the various committees niuco the commencement of this school, stating that ha thought it was a record, as the committee bad never begged a penny, and were never in debt. McKenzie und carried unanimously Tiia'i this meeting of house holders wish to protest against ;ho action of the Government in reducing the building maintenance grants to Education Boards and.also the special capitation grants of 9.1 per head to school committees The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman. After tha householders meeting the new committee met aud elected Mr MoKelvle chairman, Mr Burns treasurer, and Mr Stewart McKenzie secretary. The new committee decided to scad a strongly worded protest to the Minister of Education against the ted action of the various school grants, POREWA. The following were elected : Messrs Frederick, Fowler, Gaskin, Signal and Thoms Mr Thoms was again elected chairman. STAN WAY. The annual meeting was held in the schoolroom. The balance-sheet ihowed a “credit of £5 17s 7d. The Chairman, ,Mr G. O. Wheeler, announced his intention of retiring from the position which they had honoured him with for twenty-flve years. He did so only beoanse other duties necessitated frequent absence, and he thought that an excellent tsaohsr, such as the school now had. deserved the constant assistance and support of a chairman who should always be on the spot The following committee was elected :—Messrs T. Callingham, Clark, J. Marshall, G. Thorby, B Marshall, P James and \J. Callingham. Mr Grant Thorby was nuauimously elected chairman.
