Mr Wade, replying to a deputation representing the principal industries of the State requesting a duplication of the main trunk line and the construction of cross-country lines, said the Government proposed to carry out without delay ali the more urgent duplications on the three trunk lines. Steps were also being taken to improve the railway facilities across the country. It would be necessary to raise a spu ial loan for the purpose. It would be dissociated from the ordinary loan policy.
