AUSTRALIA v. MANAWATU. Per Press Association. / Palmerston N., March 17. There is beautiful weather this morning for continuation of the Australia Manawatn match. Kelieway and Emery opened on a perfect wicket to Oobbe and Greer. The latter bowler scattered Emery’s stnmps before the score opened and whan only two runs were added. Smith who filled the vacancy v?as clean bowled by Oobbe —51 —4—53. Smith followed and sent Oobbe to the boundary for another three, Kelieway hit Oobbe for four twice in succession and the bowling was completely collared. Holland replaced Oobbe and was treated with scant respect, but he got Kelleway’s wicket gwith a bailer —143—647. Bardsley came in next and both batsmen bit about freely, 250 being recorded for 3% hoars’ play. Smith was at last given out 1. b. w. His score included eight sixes, one five, and 6 fours —264 —7—107, After lunofa Greer and Wells took up the bowling, and Wei's found Bardsley’s stamps—3oo—B—76, The innings was then declared closed. A heavy shower of rain compelled a long adjournment, and on the damp wicket the bowling proved too deadly ifor most of the Manawatn team, and as sne reenlfc Australia won by an innings and 104 rune.
