At Dunedin wool sales yesterday prices were on a par with those of last month’s sale. R. W. Harris was arrested to-day and remanded to appear at Marton Magistrate’s Court on Thurdsay, March 10th, bail being allowed in self of £IOO, and two sureties of £IOO each. Feilding Borough Council last evening adjourned as a mark of respect to the late Mr W. A. Sandllands and a motion was also carried expressing sympathy with the widow and family. A vote of condolence was also passed with Mr John Rankin, Town Clerk, on the death of his mother. According to the new regulations gazetted the amount of duty payable by racing clubs on totalisator receipts will have to be paid within fourteen days after the holding of the race meeting in respect of which it is payable. Before granting to any raoing club a license to use a totalisator at any race meeting, the Minister of Internal Affairs has power, if he thinks fit, to require a security for the payment by the clnb of all duties and other sums for wbiob It is liable.
