OBITUARY.

MRP. H. GIBBONS. The death of Mr Francis Henry Gibbons, whibh Taihape at an early hoar on Sunday morning, removes from Rangitikei one of its best known and most highly esteemed residents. He was the eldest son of the late Mr SamuelGibbons, so long a well known resident of Marton. Deceased had been In indifferent health for some time, but the good wishes so kindly expressed for bis recovery were, however, not destined to be realised. He had carried on business at the Gretna Hotel, Taihape, for about five years, having previously conducted successful farming operations on Ongo road, Hunterville. The late Mr Gibbons was very aottive and enthusiastic in many institutions of a social character at Taihape and took a prominent part in ifpnblio affairs, and in the the township. His liberality iff connection with the Taihape Town Clock is an action that will not soon be forgotten. He was married to Miss Green, of Bulls, in 1894. The news of bis death will be learned with very deep regret by a wide circle of friends and the deepest sympathy will be extended to his wife and relatives. The body was brought to Marton to-day, and the funeral will taka place on Tuesday, leaving Armagh House, for Mount View Cemetery at 3.80 p.m.

The late/Mr Gibbons was a member of Lodge Otaihape, and also of the Foresters 5 Court.
