MANCHESTER RIFLES. The above corps shot the fourth competition for company belts on Saturday. Scores: — First Class, 7 shots at each range.

There is one more competition to fire for both classes, which will be a compulsory counter. The ranges will be: First Claes 500, (500' and 700 yards; second class 500 and (SCO yards. The position of the competition, counting the three highest scores out of four, isFirst-class: Mavhew 274, Belt 270, Barltrop 269, Fisher 260, Jacobsen 255, Aitken 248, Jones 239. Second-class: Coles and Belk 168, Eade 167, Williamson 159, Matthews 157, MatseU 149. On Wednesday and Saturday next there will be competitions on the range under class-firing conditions, and several cash prizes will be allotted to each first and second class. In order to earn capitation every man must go through his course of class-firing; therefore, a full master is expected. Free ammunition, which may he obtained from the Secretary. At the Government parade on Thursday ,evening, Corporals Hayden and Williamson were promoted to Acting-Sergeants, and Yol. Jones to Acting-Corporal. SANDON-OHAKEA RIFLE CLUB.
