The dredge last month dredged and shifted 30,750 cubic yards, an average of 1281 per day. Taranaki reports that an encouraging report has been Received from the Hadlev Petroleum Company’s bora on Carrington Bead. The depth is now i|1687 feet, and the-manager states that excellent showings of oil have occurred in the last few days. The formation being now passed through is sandstone, and the manager the wey more favourable at its depth than any ha has seen there. He gets oil between each of the different strata passed through.
