She broke down near the heads, and was rapidly carried towards the bar and tiie North Spit. Twenty passengers, half ot them women, were huddled m the cabin whilo lu.avy seas swept oyer the vessel. A tug went to her assistance and with difficulty got a line aboard and towed the Lady Beatrice half full of water to safety.
