“HOME, SWEET HOME.”
The forthcoming season of Mr Allan Hamilton’s now dramatic company commencing on Monday at the Opera House, Marton, is eagerly awaited. So much lias already been heard of the excellence of the domestic drama “Homo, Sweet Homo” which forms the opening attraction, and the individual mernIv'rs of the company are isucli esL..~iished favourites _ that a record season may bo safely predicted. “Homo, Sweet Homo” is a. story of the sea, told 'in a pathetic strain, iu which the author ujakes God’s law of marriage and a mother’s love transcend the inexorable law _of caste. According to a Sydney critic the piece is capitally played and staged in a maimer ,’iat would do credit to any management. A feature of “Home, Sweet Homo” is the strong ending to each of the acts. The story opens iu the Ikhing village of Rylsmouth, olf the English coast, taking the audience gradually into the thick of London life. The situations iu the play are remarkably powerful; pioturosqire romance always appeals to the public fancy, and “Homo, Sweet Homo” teenis with it. TheDompany terminated a highly succeossful season at Napier op Tuesday, and are now playing to crowded houses at. Hastings. In view of overcrowded houses it may be advisable to book scats iu advance at Mogridge-’s.
