The Czar consented to receive at Lands a deputation representing the Reactionary Union of Russian People. An ikon from the Patriarch of Jerusalem, M. Stolypin, excluded several members of the deputation, owing to their virulent attacks on the Government. The rest deeided not to proceed to Peterhof. The Czar was astonished that nobody appeared. The incident is considered a decided snub to the Reactionaries.
