The Burnes Food Bill providing the rigid inspection especially of carried foods at port of entry and cleanliness of food distribution was read a second time. Mr Henniker Heaton in a letter to the Times ridicules the Et. Hon. Buxton’s financial bogey in connection with Universal Penny Postage and declares that it will mean a net loss of half a million per year. It is impossible and improbable that the amount will exceed £125,000.
