TRAFALGAR SQUARE MEETING

Three thousand members of the Independent Labour Party and Social Democratic Federation held a demonstration on Sunday in Trafalgar Square to protest against the conclusion of any agreement between Britain and Bussia. The speakers, who included Will Thorne, M.P., B. B. Cunningham Graham, Mrs Despard, a prominent leader of the woman’s suffrage movement, and H. M. Ilyndnun, denounced Sir .Edward Grey, and pleaded on behalf of Russian freedom. Jack Williams loader ot the unemployed, i aduced the crowd to make a demonstration in Whitehall, but the police prevented Williams climbing the parapet and seized several red flags. Mr Hyndman was rolled in tho mud, and Mrs Despardslighllyinjurcd during scuffles. A few arrests were made, including two : Russians. The disturbances lasted twenty minutes.
