A SHOCKING ACCIDENT.

Wellington, July 7.

William Clarke, a farmer residing at the Upper Hutt, mot with an accident on Saturday night which terminated fatally. After alighting from a train at the Upper Hutt, hp went to cross the line while shunting wag in progress. By some means he was struck by a truck, both legs being crushed. Clarke died in Wellington Hospital at 2.30 this morning. Deceased was a married man about 53 years of age.
