Legislative Council. Per Press Association. Wellington, July 3. Tho Council met at 1.30 p.m. and immediately adjourned till 3.30 p.m. On resuming, the Hons. Eigg and Jenkinson took tho oath and their seats. Tho Hon. Mr Pero was also sworn in. Tho Hon. Mr Paul gave notice that tho Address-in-reply would be taken' next sitting day. Tho Council rose gt 3,35 p.m.

House of- Representatives

The House mot at 2,30 p.m., and in consequence of Miss Seddon’s wedding immediately adjourned until 4.30 p.m. The following Bills wore read a first time : Legislative Council Election, Noxious Weeds Act Amendment, Public and Bank Holidays, Quackery Prevention, Trustee Act Amendment, Abolition of Plural Voting, Farriers, Marriages Validation Act Amendment/Lights "on Vehicles. ll'lour ■ Duty Abolition, Musicians, Land Agents, Divorce Act Amendment,’ Law Practitioners 4C{ Amendment,’ Auckland Hospital Act Amendment, Bproiigli of Now Plymouth Electric Loan and Waterworks Lqan Validation, pity of Christchurch Electric Power and j,oan Empowering Amendment, Tim House adjourned at 5.15 p.m. _ On resuming at 7.30 Mr Massey immediately resumed the debate on the Address-in-Eeply and spoke till 8.2 u.
