Campbell-Bannerman assured a deputation of Welsh Commoners that Government had the fullest desire and expectation to deal with the question or Welsh disestablishment as soon as possible in this Parliament, but in view of the House of Lords’ question ho did not think-it wise to fix a dale. Ho was convinced that the measure would consolidate the Welsh national forces, Mr Asquith declared that it would be a matter for reproach if Parliament ended without the Bill passing all stages.
