ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Blenheim, June 17, Au inmate of the prison canlp at Duragree, Charles Hamilton Moir, aged 37, who was serving a sentence ■ of 18 months, was drowned in the Awatere River on Saturday afternoon. A gang of prisoners were collecting firewood, and Moir waded out to Secure a floating log, which struck him and carried him out of Ills depth.
