Messrs Todd & Douglass report under date 37th MayOats.—A iatge amount of business was transacted during tiie past week at advanced prices and the market is now stronger than ever. We would not he at all surprised to see a further advance during the next week or two. Very rough cold weather with hail hnd snowstorms has now set in> Which will stop all deliveries from, the country. Merchants stockasßre very low and are toeing held firmly. We quote as follows: A grade Gartons and Sparrowhills 2s lid, B grade Sparrowhills and Gartous 2s lOd to 2s F.A.Q. 2s Duns 3s Id to Ss 2d, Long Tartars 2s lOd to 3s, all f.0.b.&.i. Milling Wheat: The market the week was very excited and a (rapid advance took place. It is very 3 hard indeed to get supplies, 4s f.o.b. sacks extra was obtained about the middle of the week for several lota and formers are now talking 4s 3d to 4s Gd, Fowl wheat: Is just about cleaned out. Wo have sold several parcels to merchants at 8s iod f.0.b.5.i., and prices will most probably go up to the level of milling wheat. We sold seconds fowl wheat during tho week at 3s B>£d, f.o.b.s.i. Barley: Malting scarce and wanted at 4s Cd to ss, milling 3s 4d to 3s Oil, feed 'quality 3s Id to 3s 4d,. Owing V 6 the scarcity of fowl wheat Wo anticipate a demand for feed quality. Peas: Blue poaS are quoted uom.—illy at Gs 0d to Is. Only a very few are now available. Partridge peas 4s 9d to ss, f.o.b.s.i. Bran :In strong demand. Enquiries are coming to baud from Australia and market is likely to advance. Pollard: Is also scarce and millers are cleaned but. To-day’s quotation is 110 s net f.o.b.
