REGULATION OF PRICES.

What About Bread ? (Per Press Association.) DcxEntN, June 1. Mr Millar told a Star representative that he thought a Board of Commerce should be set up to report whenever it became apparent that undue prices were beilig charged for the commodities of life. They should advise Government as to what steps ought to be taken, their report to_ he presented to Parliament before being acted on. That was the course being pursued in America where trusts had been’ereated and it appeared to him a great deal better that machinery should be provided to deal with such matters before they did become an established fact in this colony. The Arbitration Act would bo amended by the creation of provincial boards of wages, consisting practically of experts iu equal numbers on both sides to deal immediately with disputes in any particular trade, the awards ho iu existence not less than two or more than throe years. Appeals to tho Arbitration Court would be allowed in certain eases. The Wages Board would bo somewhat similar to those in Anstraia.
